So, what's new? This is the place to go to keep you updated on what's new on this site, with links to the actual pages. You will also find news about the game Command & Conquer:Red Alert from Westwood Studios.

10.05.03
Recently I've had a few questions regarding Command & Conquer:Red Alert and Microsoft Windows 2000/XP. This is not a problem, and all it takes are these three easy steps:

  1. Insert your original Command & Conquer:Red Alert CD in your CD-ROM player. When the automatic installation program starts, just exit it. Double-click on My Computer and navigate to your CD-ROM. Remember that you might have to right-click your CD-ROM and chose "Open" if you have Autoplay activated.
  2. Find the file named SETUP.EXE and right-click it with your mouse, then chose "Properties". Navigate to the "Compatibility" options in this window, and select "Windows 95" under "Run this program in compatibility mode for". Click "OK" to save the setings, and double-click on SETUP.EXE to install the game like you normally would.
  3. Download the latest patch and save it to the directory where you installed the game. Double-click RA108USP.EXE first, then double-click on PATCH.EXE.
  4. Find the file named RA95.EXE and process it the same way you did with SETUP.EXE in step 2. You are now ready to play Command & Conquer:Red Alert under Microsoft Windows 2000/XP!

26.05.00
Added a page about the upcoming game Command & Conquer:Red Alert 2. Don't know exactly when it'll be released, and knowing Westwood we shouldn't make any estimates either.

12.17.99
Site has moved. Due to change in employment we've had to move our server to a different location. Hope this hasn't caused any major problems for our "fans". Also, just a short time before we reached 100,000 visitors we had to reset our hit-counter. Don't be fooled, you're not one of the first to visit us.

10.03.98
Made som changes to the frontpage and added one more dirty trick.

Ever wondered about what the morse code in the manual reads out? Check it out on our faq page.

Savegame pages have been updated to include DOS savegames for both allied and soviet missions.

For those of you who need a helping hand in beating your enemy I have made a small compilation of dirty tricks.

04.22.98
Lately there have been questions on how to gain access to various structures and units, that's why we have put together a little hierarchy showing what you need to build before you can unleash all the cool gadgets on your enemies. Anyway, we would advise you all to play the missions, that way you will gradually learn how to use all the different structures and units.

03.03.98
The complete site is imported into Microsoft FrontPage 98 and upgraded. Added the new Aftermath units to the units & structures pages. The download page is also upgraded, and the same goes for the savegames page. The links on all pages should be ok, but please let us know if this isn't the case.

08.17.97
Re-written most of the HTML documents, re-arranging the tables. Adding some additional information on the units & structures page. The download page was a complete mess, now it isn't.

08.08.97
WChat 4.0 is a fact. When you try to log on with WChat now, you will be notified that there is a new version 4.00 of the WChat available. You will need this version to play through WChat, and this version also is incompatible with Microsoft Windows versions prior to Microsoft Windows 95.

08.07.97
The Aftermath page is initiated with information on the all-new mission pack from Westwood Studios.

It's been a while since we've updated this site, but we'll try to get back in shape now.

04.08.97
The Counterstrike page is updated with some more information about the companion disk map. We also have included information about how to play the secret Giant Ant missions.

04.06.97
Finally got around to publish the walk through at the savegame page, all credits to Luhit Young for his excellent work. We have also noticed that we are missing some savegames, so if anyone can help us out, please do!

03.24.97
Made some work on the links page, sorted them alphabetically and added some more links. Made some changes to the tankrush page.

03.22.97
The faq page is a fact. Here you will find answers to questions other people have asked us, both on the game and our site. Made some cosmetic changes to the hole site. Finally got around to running a spell check on all texts, and it was needed, believe me.

03.21.97
Added some more links to the links page. We're sorry, but we can not link all the suggestions we receive. We only pick out the ones we find interesting to the public. We'd also like to apologize to all of you who haven't received an answer to your e-mail, but we can't respond to all of you as quickly as we'd like. Maybe we should make a FAQ page in addition to the ones we have?

03.20.97
Completely rearranged the download page, and added some more FAQ's and other documents on playing the game. Added a new links to Roger Wong's site containing information on strategies.

03.12.97
Made some improvements on the nuke school page, added some more examples and an animated gif of Ore Refinery being nuked.

...other news. Westwood has announced that they will release a patch later this month. The patch is now undergoing beta testing, and will contain the following bug fixes:

  • Fixed score screen crash.
  • Multiplayer save/load for network and modem play added.
  • Player can no longer ally with the computer.
  • Fixed -destnet parameter in Win95 which allows net play across bridges/routers.
  • Fixed random seed at start of multiplayer games so players starting position will be random.
  • Will now force the correct CD load after scenario 1 of Soviet and Allies.
  • Fixed crash which happens if an Internet game aborts too quickly.
  • Fixed multiplayer score screen so vessels show up in the tally.
  • Improved the multiplay dialogues.
  • The ability to build over a flag (in capture the flag) and thus hide it, has been fixed.
  • An "advanced modem settings" dialogue has been added to fix the problems they were having with U.S. Robotics 33,600 modems.

There are several minor fixes that will be done also, but has not been included in this list. The fixes will be available as download, and included on the Counterstrike mission disk.

03.11.97
Added the nuke school page with information on how to make the most out of your nuclear attacks.

03.10.97
Added another maps page, with some of the maps that we have received the last day or so. Did some work on our gateway to other cool sites...

03.09.97
The maps page is divided in to separate pages, we are trying to keep the pages at a maximum of 10 maps on each side. But keep them maps coming. Additional strategies added to the tankrush page. We are also making plans for a nukeschool page, but depends on the interest of it, so if you are interested drop us a line in the e-mail.

03.07.97
Added the tankrush page about possible countermeasures to this strategy. Still need some input from you all though.

03.03.97
Made the units & structures page Netscape Navigator friendly. Sorry about that you Netscape Navigator users. It seems like the Netscape Navigator  browsers did not accept the lack of end tags the way the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser does.

03.02.97
Added new savegames on Soviet side, the savegames are now complete.  The savegames are only for the Microsoft Windows 95 version of the game.

03.01.97
Added new savegames on both Allied and Soviet side.  Still not complete, but it's a good start.

02.28.97
The Red Alert Unit Definition and Strategic Library is official opened. After a good deal of ground study and intense HTML coding, we now are proud to present our pages to the public.
